Island Pet Center and Blue Buffalo Pet Foods teamed up to donate a check for $1400 to Project New Hope Northwest as part of a month-long “Made In The USA” celebration during February. All February, 10% of the proceeds of Blue Buffalo products sold went to help fund Project New Hope Northwest.
Now in its’ 3rd year of operation, Project New Hope Northwest provides combat veterans of all services and all wars with a stress-free weekend retreat to face their issues along with their families, in workshops under the guidance of professional counselors. Service members having difficulties transitioning from a war zone to their former environment with their families and communities can sign up for no-cost weekend retreats with opportunities for family-friendly activities with professional counselors on hand at all times to help work out individual issues. Adopted by Lions Clubs of Lions Multiple District 19 in 2010, the program is staffed entirely with volunteers, meaning 100% of all collected donations go directly to helping those service members and their families who need it most.
